feeling the springtime - even in the rain
does anyone recognize this tree? i'm going with BLACK LOCUST. on mother's day i got to take a walk with 2 of my favorite mommas (my mom and sis) and these were blooming everywhere in QUEENY PARK! have i never noticed them before, or maybe its just timing, but i was so entranced i had to snap some pics and then google the heck out of it, until i figured out what it was!
then i spent the rest of mother's day planing my veggie beds, and making this huge suculent planter for a centerpiece:
so that last week of glorious weather has gotten all the st louisans pumped for spring. me included. i have spent the last month seemingly trapped inside with my sick kiddo, but i have 'springed up' my wardrobe as much as possible by digging out a favorite pair of sandals and my most colorful NIKI BIKI camis to layer under loose tees etc. i'm hoping to get my full spring wardrobe out of the back of the closet soon! AND OF COURSE I'VE BEEN SHOPPING AT LUSSO to fill in!
there has been an unending stream of cute spring clothing and accessories, and tons of great knit dresses and lots of items to fall in love with. plus the launch of JONATHAN ADLER HANDBAGS AND ACCESSORIES!
here are a few of my faves:
this adorable jonathan adler straw sun hat with the stripes under the brim (where they flatter your face!) blue/blue, pink/orange, and red/blue available.
and then there's these fab shorts from HENRY & BELLE. i'm kind of obsessed with these striped shorties, SO CUTE, but who i am i kidding? i didn't like my legs when i was 20 i certainly don't like them now! so i'll go with these super white skinny bermudas and maybe rock them out for work with some high wedges and a denim shirt?
and i've been craving another ANNE SPORTUN wrap bracelet to wear with the hematite one i bought for fall. what do you think? turquoise? these 3 are so pretty together....
oh and LISTEN UP! i've recently discovered Jackie Greene, and the Jackie Greene station on Pandora totally rocks. mellow and yummy with shades of keb mo, amos lee, and mumford and sons. check it out.
keep a spring in your step. i'll keep bloggin' on!
